“Please know that this is a school that has a wonderful and outstanding principal. She has compassion and truly loves the children. The staff are equally as diligent. The only area that needs growth are the facilities. Parents stand up for your school!!! We need a building so that we do not loose our children to the streets!! The academy will work with us!! The rca staff will take care of our children but they need your help to get a building!”

“I know the teachers are learning themselves. They go to classes or have training at the school. They always have new programs in the class for the children. The children learn art and have music classes. They exercise in the school yard. Whenever there is something that affects our parents they will voice their options. They definitely get involved. This is a school that gives children the tools to learn. The best teachers and all the things the children need in the classroom.”

“I think this school has great potential, but is lacking the necessary space to excel to the greatness desired. The area is not the most condusive for a learning enviornment. Mrs. Ashley, the principal has done a tremendous job, and I hope she keeps striving for excellence. I definitely prefer it over sending my son to the Hempstead school district.”

“It may very well be a good school -- however, the school has had a different principal every year since it has been open. The school is chartered to go up one grade per year and they do -- but, as it increases in number they have to lose the earlier grades. ie, K-4, 1-5, 2-6. The charter does not say that can not be done. So they do. There is no gym if that is of importance to you. The children work and eat all in the same classrooms. Even though there is indeed a waiting list to get in, think of how many children have they lost in the process. They have two sites at present one on Pleasant Avenue -- the other is housed in a church on Brookside.”

“This is an excellent school for being in the town of Roosevelt. The teachers are wonderful as well as the principal. The educational aspect of it, is spectactular. My only fault with the school, is that it's in a very unsafe environment. Alot of parents are considering on removing their children from this program. If this school made better provisions for the students safety, I am sure many parents would let their children continue their education at RCA on Pleasant Ave. in Roosevelt, NY.”
