Learning Community Charter School Reviews

In the ten years since LCCS opened, it has met each challenge that arose with success and has progressed quite rapidly to achieve the academic standards it strives to meet. The art and music programs have grown nicely, although we would like to see a school choir and band added. The building facilities limit the sports options, though these programs have improved over the years. The students, their families, the school staff and faculty make up a vibrant, diverse and active community. The environment is caring and committed. We are very fortunate and happy to be part of the LCCS family.

L.C.C.S. has a great academic program for grades k - 8. They have children in Spanish calss from Kindergaten. The school covers a braod range of topics as well as community based learning. They have several extracurricular activities available including music aand movement, art, yoga, a school basketball team. L.C.C.S. also has many school clubs for interests such as gardening, chess, sewing, etc. There is a strong level of parent involvement in every aspect of the school.

My son has been attending the school since the 5th grade. I love the school and the academics speak for themselves. On the NJASK the students outperformed the NJ state average!! It is one of the few schools where the students are learining to read, write and do math. It's not how much homework that you get, it's about the quality of the homework and the test scores speak for themselves. Great parent involvemnet at this school and we all pull together for our children. You have to be a parent that's involved.

My son has been attending LCCS since grade 2 and really enjoys it. My only problem with the school is that I find they don't assign enough homework and the homework the kids do get appears to be really easy. I question if they are challenging the students. Overall, I like the school and the teachers, they care and it shows.

I Think this is a great school. It has a warm, friendly & caring staff. The students here feel at home. I have my children since kindergarten (now in sixth & second). I feel very comfortable leaving my kids in a safe environment. The class size is small (max 18) and easy for teachers to concentrate on every child. I am not sure academically where it stands, but I can see it developing (Everything needs time to prove). Parents involvement is terrific. I conclude to say that one day it will be one of the Best. Good Luck LCCS.
